I Know What The X Factor Is

,

The first thing I noticed when watching the show was the live audience for the auditions. They are very vocal with how they like or dislike each contestant with helps give authenticity to the performances. Each contestant is able to feel the crowd which is an important element for performers in the entertainment industry.

The next thing I noticed were the judges and their great chemistry. They all just seemed to gel together. There was the return of SiPaul lol. With the addition of L.A Reid it was a match made in heaven. Really they could have had Humpty Dumpty as the other judge and it wouldn't have mattered to me. Instead, they choose to go with Nicole Scherzinger and she fit in the puzzle quite nicely.  The Judges on a competition show for me can make or break it. That's the main reason I stopped watching So You Think you can Dance and a big problem I have with America's best Dance Dance Crew. (Hey, I just did a 90 degrees of separation of Simon Cowell with those shows. lol!) Okay, I digress.

On to the contestants. Groups as well as singers solo artists from age 12 and up can try out. What makes this so special is because they are really able to find true raw talent. When Stacy Adams came on stage and said, "I don't want to die with this music in me". I thought she was being over-dramatic. Then she opened her mouth and I was on the floor. Now, I was the one being "over-dramatic". When she was done singing I wanted to get up and change the world. I just felt so inspired. I've honestly never heard a voice filled with so much passion and emotion. Some of the contestants performed with such a fierce fire that let you know that everything was riding on this. For many of them this was their very last shot. It was a way out of the struggle of someone that is just trying to keep their head above water. This struggle that is sometimes called life for many people. That’s something so genuine it can't be faked. With a 5 Million Dollar prize on the line this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for them to not only change their lives but the lives of their family members as well. Who doesn't want to see that? The photo boothish segment after the stellar performances in black in white didn't hurt either. This America the land of opportunity. At a time like this with so much going on in the world people need to be inspired.  I'm hooked. I want to see someone fulfill their deepest hopes and dreams. What do you think? Please don't tell me I'm a total psycho for getting all that from a show.

New Fall Line Up Part 2

,
Here are some of the new and returning shows kicking off for the Fall Season for the Middle of the week.

Tuesday

Glee   8pm on FOX

Let’s be honest between you and I last season was a bit stale. I tried to pretend like I loved it. But, you can’t lie to yourself.  I’m not sure if it was the choice of songs or the writing in general. I will be watching tonight of course and am a bit anxious to see what the new season and cast member offers.

The New Girl   9pm on FOX

This is my pick of the night. I am a fan of Zooey Deschanel as an actress and musician. Throw in a Wayne’s and you’ve got a recipe for a hit. This show seems so promising. I will be most certainly be tuning in not only because it’s right after Glee but because I’m really interested in seeing how entertaining it can be.  Zooey may look a little familiar to those not familiar with her music or big screen performances. That’s because her big sister Emily Deschanel stars in Bones on the same network.

Raising Hope   9:30pm  FOX

This one was funny last year and I will be tuning in again to see what the new season brings.

Wednesday

The X Factor   8pm FOX

I’m certainly checking this one out. I never watch past the bad singers on American Idol so I’m excited to see what undiscovered singing talent Simon has managed to find. I was certain that it had all been found because American Idol doesn’t seem to know where it is anymore. I’m also curious to know see how the show works.

Up All Night 8pm NBC

This show debuted last Wednesday and I was one of the 12 million viewers. The Christina Applegate Mia Rudolph combination works. It doesn’t hurt that Will Arnett is hilarious as well. The Dvr will be a buzzing tonight. Because several shows that I’m interested in come on at the same time.

H8R 8pm The CW

I peeped this show last week and love the concept so I’m going to be giving it another shot.

America's Next Top Model 9pm The CW

I’ve longed stopped watching this one. It’s gotten boring to me season after season the same thing. But, there’s nothing to lure in an old fan like an All Star Season. With that being said I’m there.

How did you like the new shows so far? Check out the blog on Thursday for Part 3.

Big Brother Big Let Down

,

If you’re a loyal fan of Big Brother like myself and find yourself feeling a little disappointed about this season you aren’t alone.  There are a number of factors that made this season a royal let down. It’s a shame we wait all year only to discover that they decided to make a few major changes without any approval from us. I’m going to watch it because like I said I’ve waited all year but I’m not totally satisfied.  First off I was disappointed about the lack of new cast. Having new cast members are part of the allure of the show. You don’t know any of the houseguest when they first enter the house. But, you get to watch how they play the game. Each season we develop our new favorites and dislike with a fervent passion our newfound Big Brother enemies. They took that away from us with Season 13. Don’t get me wrong I’m totally #TeamJeffandJordan but I would much rather watch a reality show about them getting married or dating rather than have them back in the Big Brother house. Any of the other veterans I could care less about ESPECIALLY Brendan or as I like to call him Psycho Bren with his partner Miss Dramatic. The one thing I do have in common with them is the fact that I don’t like floaters as well. This brings me to my next point of the whole golden key business. I do not like the idea that any of the house guests were off limits. I think being able to nominate pretty much anyone for eviction makes the show more interesting.  Being given the golden key made people in the house automatic floaters. Porsche is a prime example of this.  The fact that the veterans are there doesn’t really give the newbies a fair chance. As of yet none of them have won the all-important HOH. It seems to be going back and forth between the Vets like a hot potato. I would feel differently if it was an All Star season of Big Brother, but it’s not.  Let’s stay tuned and see what happens. Hopefully they can have a few twists in the game that will make up for the major #fail or deciding not to have all new cast members.  What do you think about the season so far?
